Croatia has recently entered this category.<\/p>\n<p>After much anticipation in the country, on 12 July 2022 the EU\u2019s finance ministers definitively approved the introduction of the euro in Croatia from 1 January 2023. The existing currency, the kuna, which has been in use since 1993, will soon be consigned to the history books.<\/p>\n<p>On 19 July 2022, the Croatian National Bank announced that the Croatian Mint had started minting euro coins. The national sides of Croatia\u2019s euro coins had already been unveiled by the country\u2019s government. All coins will feature Croatia\u2019s coat of arms with its characteristic checkerboard motif as well as the country name Hrvatska in capital letters.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"section__teaser_special\"><div class=\"teaser_special row_simple middle-xs \"><div class=\"teaser_special__media col-l-6 col-xs-12 intro-animation-mobile\"><div class=\"picture_container\"><picture><source srcset=\"https:\/\/web-dev.sondermuenze.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/swissmint-website-magazin-1-news-2-960x960px.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/web-dev.sondermuenze.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/swissmint-website-magazin-1-news-2-960x960px.jpg\" alt=\"Frankreich\" width=\"960\" height=\"960\"\/><\/picture><\/div><\/div><div class=\"teaser_special__content col-l-6 col-xs-12 intro-animation intro-animation--left\"><div class=\"teaser_special__content__inside\"><p><strong>France<br \/>\n<\/strong>Monnaie de Paris is issuing silver and gold coins for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games as part of its Heritage collection running from 2021 to 2024.<\/p>\n<p>This is the French capital\u2019s third time hosting the Olympics, after 1900 and 1924. To mark the 2024 games, Monnaie de Paris is celebrating this prestigious international competition with its Heritage collection focusing on sport, sporting values, the athletes as well as the cultural heritage of the host country.<\/p>\n<p>Three sports were honoured in 2021, with four more to follow in each of the subsequent years up to 2024. The obverse depicts the respective sport, while the reverse \u2013 identical for all the coins in the series \u2013 features a view of Paris with the River Seine resembling an athletics track. The coins depict the leaf of the sugar maple tree, the symbol of Canada. The small mintage makes this series a real rarity.<\/p>\n<p>The four gold coins of 1, 1\/4, 1\/10 and 1\/20 oz with values of 50, 10, 5 and 1 Canadian dollars are made of 99.99\u2009% gold and feature the popular maple leaf on the obverse. The reverse carries a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, Canada\u2019s head of state until very recently.<\/p>\n<p>Limited to just 450 units, this unique set is packaged in a wooden case crafted from hard maple and shaped like a maple leaf.
